Best Practices for Buyer's Agents:

Text the Agent Following Showing Request

Rather than relying exclusively on the note section of Showingtime and checking the box that you are unable to access Sentrilock, be sure to text the agent immediately following a showing request. If the listing agent is granting access to a dozen agents same day, they may never get a decent notification of the fact that you can't access a property without their support. Keep in mind that some agents don't text, so be sure to follow up and check to see if the text was delivered.

Part of my initial text includes the following (since I have access to certain other local lockboxes):

"Hi, 


I am scheduled via Showing Time to see ----- at ----.


I don't have access to CVR lockboxes but I do have Sentri Connect. May you grant me access via Sentri Connect or is there a contractor, CBRAR, WBG, or REIN lockbox?

In case you are unfamiliar, here is how to grant access to me via Sentrikey:

Follow Up

Always check the date and time for access, and follow up w the agent if you don't get an access under your my accesses segment of sentri connect promptly.

Troubleshooting if you already have access to some Sentri lock of another MLS (i.e. Williamsburg MLS):

Use Another Email Address

If you have access to another MLS that uses Sentrilock, you may have problems creating a Sentriconnect account with the same email address. 


Those at my firm have a few ways to be emailed.

For those at my firm, a workaround is to take advantage of the fact that your GRP account can be sent to @garrettrealtypartners.com or @Ggrva.com 

  1. To quickly solve this problem, just use a different email address than your Sentrilock account, so if you use @garrettrealtypartners.com for your Sentrilock account, use @Ggrva.com

  2. It's ideal for your Sentri Connect account to match your Showingtime account email address. You can change your Showingtime account email address to help make this possible if it initially matches your Sentrilock account. If your Showingtime and Sentri Connect accounts don't match, even if you state via text in a showing the email address used for your Sentri Connect account, careless listing agents may overlook your text and attempt to grant access to the requesting email address associated with Showingtime

Be Patient & Helpful with Listing Agents

Some listing agents don’t know that Sentri Connect is able to be granted to other agents in neighboring MLS. If that's the case, I respond via text using my template below, 

"

As shared by Sentri Lock, "SentriConnect® was developed to give easy access for agents in neighboring boards and brokerages, contractors, painters, appraisers, photographers, and more – anyone who would need secure and temporary access to a property." https://www.sentrilock.com/sentriconnect-2/
