Whether you're a 1st-time buyer looking to save money, moving here from another country and trying to cut down on moving costs, or an investor looking to put up a short-term rental that's furnished, Freecycle & the free sections of Facebook Marketplace & the free section of Craigslist are viable options for cutting costs, especially if you have good options to transport things yourself without using a rental & without the need to hire labor. I've seen items like free firewood (which is ideal for those whose primary home fuel source is an efficient wood stove), rock, boats, & more.

Keep in mind that some of the "free" items aren't really free.
